Our Summer Powder Session is a 2 or 3 week trip designed specifically for our clients to ride the best ski areas in New Zealand with the minimum amount of effort. We take care of everything from airport transfers, mountain transport, accommodation, liftpasses and optional activities, all you have to do is kick back, relax and enjoy riding the Southern Alps with us. Whilst travelling on the trip our clients get to put their feet up and enjoy the incredible scenery of NZ from the comfort of our Super Custom Hiace 4WD vans which are perfectly suited to handle the tricky ski area access roads found in New Zealand.

Accommodation for the first week of the trip is in our own private lodge in Wanaka which is ideally situated for easy access to all of the Southern Lakes ski areas. The spacious and comfortable 2 storey lodge sits on a 3 acre property with great views of the surrounding mountains. It features a large kitchen, underfloor heating, upstairs spa bath, drying room and 2 fireplaces. The 3 interconnected living spaces include a cosy lounge room, open plan dining area and bright sunroom with 180 degree views. The outdoors area has a barbecue on the deck, hammock, swings and in-ground trampoline.

The local snow reports are faxed through to our lodge every morning and while our clients enjoy a delicious and filling cooked breakfast, we use our extensive local knowledge to determine where the best snow will be found for the day. For the first week of the trip we will explore the most renowned resorts of the Southern Alps; including the freerider’s paradise of Treble Cone, the feature laden parks of Cardrona and Snow Park, the easy access hikes of The Remarkables and Coronet Peak in Queenstown, and our secret stash mountain of Ohau. Our unique multi mountain lift passes are valid at all of the resorts, so we are completely free to chase the best snow wherever the weather gods decide to put it.

On the second week of the trip, we leave the glitz of the commercial resorts and travel along the spine of the Southern Alps to a remote and uniquely Kiwi area called the Craigieburns. This area contains New Zealand’s infamous club fields where lift lines are virtually non-existent and powder can stay untracked for days after a storm. Our private cottages located here gives us easy access to all of the ski areas nearby and we once again utilize the freedom of our multi-mountain liftpasses to ride the best snow available every single day. We can explore the long vertical of Porter’s, the easy access back basins of Mount Cheeseman and Broken River, the uncrowded open faces of Mount Olympus and Temple Basin, and the legendary triple black chutes of Craigieburn Valley.

During our travels there will also be plenty of opportunities to indulge in an array of adrenalin pumping optional extra activities including heliboarding, snowmobiling, bungy jumping, sky diving, jetboating and much more. After 2 weeks of riding some of the best ski areas in the Southern Hemisphere our clients can choose to depart from Christchurch or journey back down to the Southern Lakes with us. For those keen on extending their experience to a third week we settle back into our private lodge in Wanaka for another week of powder, peaks, parks and pipes!
