Located on the Craigieburn Range, the Broken River ski area consists of two large, wide open basins. The mountain has a highest point of 1820 metres and a vertical drop of 420 metres. There is over 150 hectares of exciting terrain serviced by 5 rope tows. Grooming is carried out on the learner and intermediate slopes and the staff set up a small range of good quality rails.
The Broken River basin is ideally suited to intermediates with lots of room to carve tracks down from Sunny Peak and through Happy Valley. Advanced riders can enjoy threading their way through the Nervous Knob chutes and tackling the rock drops below the day lodge.
A short walk from the Ridge Tow offers access to the massive expanse of Allan's basin. This area is perfect for more experienced snowboarders offering steep chutes, powder stashes and a LONG run back down to the carpark.
